The Camp Fire Girls as an organization for the education and recreation of young women has been a great part of the cultural heritage of New York State. My book looks at the Camp Fire Girls with individual memories of its leaders and members. Much of my text is compiled from newspaper accounts and ancestry records. The timespan of the ebook extends from the inception of the Camp Fire Girls in 1910 until the mid-1970s. The text is enhanced by vintage black and white images from news reports and additional color photos obtained from Google searches. I am hopeful that former Camp Fire Girls will be inspired by the reminiscences and memories that my work inspires. Perhaps it will prompt some reuniting among some members who are still living. I was most impressed with the appreciation that the youth organization has taken in the Native American culture, i.e. through construction of totem poles and constructing of Indian dress and handicrafts.
